「他現在已經達到無人能及的境界。」光芒總教練凱許(Kevin Cash)賽後對陣中先發亞契(Chris Archer)最近的表現給予如此的註解。

亞契8日先發遭遇水手，主投7局送出11次三振，僅失1分非責失分，助隊3比1獲勝，近3戰每場至少11K且沒有保送，成為近代大聯盟(自1910年來)首位有此神人表現的投手。

前2戰分別送出12、15次三振，亞契此役持續用三振寫紀錄，賞給水手打者11K，成為聯盟首位連3場先發送出至少9次三振且沒有四壞保送的球員，同時本季僅花58場就達成100K，打破隊友普萊斯(David Price)去年寫下的60場隊史紀錄。

「亞契的表現令人印象深刻，非常深刻。」凱許賽後不禁讚嘆，「他讓我們有機會可以一直一直贏下去。」

亞契說：「當你越專注在一件事，就越能控制。當我站在場上投球並沒有去想如何三振打者，只是想投好每一球，當你這樣做的時候，事情就簡單許多，就能開始達成一些偉大的成就。」

去年投出生涯首度單季10勝的賽季，亞契本季表現持續攀升，季初曾創下連4場先發26.2局無責失分，目前戰績7勝4敗，83局飆出108次三振，防禦率1.84，被打擊率僅1成96，成為外界預測本季賽揚獎的熱門人選。

光芒在亞契好投的加持下，近8場拿下6勝，31勝27負在美聯東區僅落後給龍頭洋基1.5場勝差。
